As part of activities marking one hundred days in office of the Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, wife of the Governor Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris has distributed food items, cash and other materials to female patients receiving medications in various hospitals in Birnin kebbi, the Kebbi State capital.
During the visits which kicked off at Vesico virginal fistula (VVF) center, the wife of Kebbi State Governor and Chairperson Nafisa Nasir Charity Development Foundation (NANAS) said the aim of the visit was to assist the patients in order to alleviate their sufferings. She commended the medical personnel for taking good care of patients, calling on people to rally round the present administration for provision of more dividends of democracy.
In their remarks, Permanent Secretary, Kebbi State Ministry of Health, Dr. Nuhu Koko, Dr. Hassan Warah, VVF surgeon and Principal medical officer VVF Center, Dr. Amina thanked the wife of the Governor for the visit and assistance given to patients, prayed to Allah to reward her abundantly.
They briefed the wife of the Governor on the successes recorded and challenges faced by the hospital, adding that, the hospital offers skills acquisition to patients with start ups after recovery for them to be self reliant.
The wife of the Governor went round the hospital to meet the patients awaiting surgery and those who were operated and presented food, fruits, wrappers, sanitary pads, detol and cash to the patients
Female patients at Fati Lami women and children hospital, Sir Yahaya memorial hospital, Federal medical center Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi medical center Kalgo and Amanawa leprocy center Kalgo enjoyed the same gesture where she had closed door meetings with the Medical directors of the hospitals, Dr Abubakar Zaki, Medical director Sir Yahaya memorial hospital, CMD Kebbi Medical center Kalgo, Dr Nura Kangiwa, Medical Director Federal medical center and Alhaji Muhammad Umar Amanawa, Officer in charge of Amanawa leprocy center.
During the visit, the Chairperson, NANAS foundation pledged to provide sewing machines to VVF patients who underwent training on tailoring in addition to sponsoring surgeries of 42 patients at various hospitals and donation of delivery kits worth 2.5 million naira at federal medical center, Birnin Kebbi.
Among her entourage were wives of the Deputy Governor, SSG, and Head of Service.
Others include:wives of commissioners as well as the commissioner and Permanent secretary, Ministry of women affairs and social development.
Highlight at the visits were presentations of food, fruits, wrappers and cash to the patients in all the hospitals visited in the State capital,
