The wife of Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nafisa Nasir has attended an empowerment program for 500 women on small scale businesses in Dakin gari, Suru local government, organized by Hon. Umar Maigandi Garima, Permanent Member 1 SUBEB and also Kauran Gwandu Campaign coordinator Suru local government.
In her address, the wife of the Governor, Dr Nafisa Nasir, commended Honorable Umar Maigandi for empowering 500 women with 20,000 naira each to support their businesses considering the current economic situation in the country, calling on the beneficiaries to use the money judiciously.
She also called on people of the state to rally round the present administration under the leadership of her husband Dr Nasir Idris, commending him for executing laudable projects in the state.
In his welcome address, the acting Chairman Suru local government, Alh Bawa Sarkin Yakin Zogirma thanked the wife of the Governor for attending the event, commended her and her husband the Executive Governor of Kebbi state, Dr Nasir Idris for improving the lives of the people and maternal health in the state.
In their goodwill messages, National Chairman IPMAN, Alh Engineer Maigandi ( Garima) Jakadan Gwandu, Former Chairman local government service commission, permanent commissioner SUBEB,Alh Abubakar Nayaya and host of others commended the present administration under the leadership of Dr Nasir İdris for bringing more development to the state, describing it as a government of the people.
In an interview with newsmen Honourable Umar Maigandi Garima, permanent member 1 SUBEB, said the aim of empowering the 500 women in Dakin gari was to join hands with the Governor to improve the living standard of the women in Suru local government, considering the month of Ramadan is fast approaching, calling on the beneficiaries to ensure judicious use of the money.
Dignitaries who attended the event were commissioners, Wives of Head of service, Chairmen, EXecutive Secretaries and women leaders.
Highlights of the event were entertainment and presentation of cash to the beneficiaries by the dignitaries and the wife of the Governor.
Earlier, the wife of the Governor paid homage to the district head of Dakin gari (Lamidon D/gari) Alh Jafaru Haliru Mutube.
Dr Nafisa Nasir said the aim of her visit was to seek for his royal blessing and to witness the empowerment program of 500 women in D/gari, commending the organizer of the empowerment and prayed to God reward him abundantly.
In his response, the district head of D/Gari Alh. Jafar Haliru Mutube, expressed delight over her visit and commended the present administration and NANAS foundation for improving the lives of people in the state.
