The wife of Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nafisa Nasir Idris, has commissioned a maternity complex, a pediatric center and Primary Health Centre, Geza, all in Dandi local government area.
In her address, the wife of the Governor and Founder NANAS, expressed delight over the commissioning of the renovated health facilities sponsored by a state assembly member, Dr Sulaiman Abubakar Fana, saying the project will improve the health care system of the communities and prayed to Allah to bless him abundantly.
She called on women to attend antenatal care before and post natal after delivery for improved health and wellness, urging husbands to give maximum support in that direction.
In his speech, State Commissioner of health, Comrade Yunusa Musa Isma’il, commended the house of assembly member for renovating the health facilities and called on the benefiting communities to take adequate care of the Structure for sustainability while Commissioner women affairs and social development, Hajiya Halima Hassan Kamba, announced that plans are on the way to launch empowerment program for the women in Dandi local government.
District head of Kamba ( Sarkin Shikon Kamba), Alh Mamuda Zarumai, appreciated Dr Nafisa for her support and commitment to improving the lives of women and children in Dandi local government.
Dignitaries who attended the event were representatives of WHO, UNICEF, health personnel, wives of commissioners, Dandi local government Chairman, NANAS foundation and Elders forum.
Highlights of the event were commissioning of maternity complex and pediatric center as well as distribution of Mama kits to pregnant women.
