The wife of Kebbi State Governor Dr. Nafisa Nasir Idris, has called on pregnant women to visit hospitals for antenatal care so as to prevent pregnancy related complications during and after delivery, as government has provided medical needs for antenatal services.
She made the call at the General hospital, Aliero and Fati Lami women and children hospital, Birnin Kebbi, saying the aim of the visit was to celebrate the one year anniversary of Kauran Gwandu’s administration with patients, nursing mothers and pregnant women so as to bring succor to the less privileged, assuring that the state government will continue to provide more dividends of democracy to the people.
She personally appreciated the efforts of Alh. Khairullah Abdullahi for being supportive to all her activities and prayed to Allah to reward him abundantly.
In their separate remarks, Commissioner of health, Comrade Yunusa Isma’il, and his special duties counterpart, Alh. Zayyanu Umar Aliero as well as District Head of Sabiyel Alh. Umar Muhammad Dodo commended the Kauran Gwandu’s administration for its giant strides in improving the health care delivery system in the State, praising the efforts of the wife of the Governor in improving the lives of women and children.
The principal Medical Officer of General hospital Aliero Dr. Zayyanu Isma’il Dankal enumerated some challenges facing the hospital and thanked the wife of the Governor for the visit which he said would go a long way in addressing some of the challenges.
At Fati lami women and children hospital Birnin kebbi, the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Abubakar Zaki commended Dr. Nafisa Nasir for touching the lives of women and children positively in the state, describing her gesture as worthy of emulation.
Dignitaries who were part of the visit were Commissioners, wives of SSG, Chairmen and medical personnel.
Highlights of the visit were presentations of Antenatal and postnatal kits and #10,000 cash to 200 women by wife of the Governor and the dignitaries.
