The wife of Kebbi State Governor Dr Nafisa Nasir has organized a sallah party to celebrate Eidel Fitr with orphans and other children in the state at the presidential lodge Birnin kebbi.
In her address, Dr Nafisa Nasir said the aim of organizing the party was for the orphans to have a sense of belonging during the festive period, calling on them to face their studies with all seriousness and to be obedient to leaders at all times.
She appreciated her husband, the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Dr Nasir Idris for supporting her efforts in improving the lives of the orphans.
Dr Nafisa commended Alh Khairullah Abdullahi, founder, Alkhairiyya solidarity movement, for being supportive to the course and prayed to Allah to reward him abundantly.
In her welcome address the State Commissioner, ministry of women affairs and social development, Hajiya Halima Hassan Kamba, commended the state Government and the wife of the Governor for uplifting the standard of living of the orphans under her ministry, saying the present administration is committed to bettering the lives of the orphans in Kebbi state and prayed to Allah to reward them accordingly.
Ramlat Bello Gulumbe who spoke on behalf of the children, thanked the wife of the Governor for organizing the sallah party, saying she has made them happy.
The event featured good will messages, several competitions by the children: chair dance, laughing, drinking, eating and drama presentation.
Dignitaries who attended the event were wives of Deputy Governor, SSG, Head of service and commissioners.
Highlights of the event were presentations of prizes to the winners performed by the dignitaries, cash donations and entertainment.
