The lecture which took place at the Argungu emirate secondary school Argungu, 20/3/2024 which coincides with 10th Ramadan 1445AH.
In her remarks, the wife of the Governor, Dr. Nafisa Nasir, expressed delight for witnessing yet another successful Ramadan lecture, calling on women to be supportive to their husbands and appreciate their efforts in taking care of their families, considering the economic crisis people are experiencing, describing it as a global phenomenon.
She said she deemed it necessary to support the women with cash and Rice to lessen the hardship they are facing, saying in her next visit, special empowerment programs will be provided. She commended her husband Dr Nasir İdris for contributing immensely to the development of women folk in the state. She appreciated the Ulama who delivered lectures on different topics and prayed to Allah to bless them accordingly.
In her welcome speech, The State Commissioner of women affairs and social development, Hajiya Halima Hassan Kamba, appreciated the efforts of the wife of the Governor for organizing the event, describing it as rewarding.
She commended the present government for supporting the development of women, saying plans have been concluded to organize more empowerment programs through her ministry.
In his vote of thanks, the Sole Administrator of Argungu local government, Alh. Aliyu Sani Gulma, thanked Dr Nafisa Nasir for the kind gesture which she has been offering before the inception of the present administration.
Hajiya Aishatu and Hajiya Hauwa’u Abubakar who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the wife of the Governor for the support, describing her as a role model worthy of emulation and prayed to Allah to reward her abundantly.
The Ulama who delivered lectures on different topics were Shiekh Sulaiman Bala who spoke extensively on Oneness of Allah, Professor Abubakar Wali; Economic crisis and Malama Lubabatu Abubakar; Moral upbringing of wards.
The Islamic scholars called on people to fear Allah in all their dealings.
Three hundred women received a bag of Rice and 10,000 naira each.
Dignitaries who attended the event were Commissioners, wives of secretary to the state Government and politicians.
Highlights of the event were recitation of the holy Quran, special prayers, cash donations and presentations of Bags of Rice to beneficiaries.
