KEBBI GOVERNOR’S WIFE, HER EXCELLENCY, HAJIYA NAFISA NASIR IDRIS, DONATED CASH GRANTS TO 790 UNCONDITIONAL CASH TRANSFER BENEFICIARIES AND 10 SUCCESSFULLY TRAINED VOCATIONAL SKILLS BENEFICIARIES.

In her remarks, Her Excellency Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, represented by Hajiya Salamatu Tafida, expressed gratitude to the USAID/ICHSSA-4 project for selecting Kebbi as one of the project states, which would enhance the well-being of orphan and vulnerable children in the state. She urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the grant and start-up materials they received. She emphasized that the intervention would assist them in meeting their daily needs, particularly during this period of high inflation.

Moreover, she commended the efforts of the Kebbi State Government, led by her husband, His Excellency Comr. Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, for creating a conducive atmosphere for development partners in the state. She assured that the Kebbi State Government would provide significant recognition to the development partners operating in the state.

She also pledged to sustain the program in order to promote self-reliance, reduce poverty, and improve enrollment of out-of-school children in Kebbi State.

Her Excellency Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris donated a grant of 10,000 to each beneficiary, in addition to the unconditional cash transfers and start-up materials provided.

Among the dignitaries present at the event were the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Women Affairs, the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Health, the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, the Special Adviser to the Governor on International Donor Agencies, implementing partners, and beneficiaries.

Highlights of the event included goodwill messages, the presentation of dummy cheques, the distribution of start-up materials, and group photographs.
