The wife of Kebbi state Governor, Dr. Nafisa Nasir has been awarded by Malja’ussunnah Birnin kebbi local government in recognition of her contribution and support to the propagation of Islam.
The wife of the Governor was honoured at the closing ceremony of islamic quiz competition, which took place at Kebbi State Television Service, Birnin Kebbi.
In her address, Dr Nafisa Nasir expressed delight for seeing talented students competing on various islamic fields, discribing it as encouraging to the young ones and commended the Ulama for imparting knowledge positively in the students, praying to Allah to reward them accordingly.
She promised to sponsor next year’s islamic quiz competition and annnounced the donation of 500,000 naira and a gift of sewing machine each to the participating students.
In his welcome address,the General Manager Kebbi State Television, Alhaji Aminu Sani Kamba, appreciated the wife of the Governor for attending the the closing ceremony of the islamic quiz competition which is organized yearly in collaboration with Kebbi state Radio corporation to educate and encourage the young ones to seek for Islamic knowledge.
He commended the Accountant- General of the state for contributing immensely to the success of the quiz competition, prayed Allah to bless him abundantly.
In his vote of thanks, Leader of Malja’ussunnah Birnin kebbi local government, Mal Buhari Muhammad thanked the wife of the Governor for attending the closing ceremony and her support to the success of the event, describing her as role model in the society.
He also appreciated all that contributed to the success of the occasion.
The two competing schools Malja’ussunnah Makerar gandu Birnin Kebbi and Malja’ussunnah Hajiya Yar Nana Birnin kebbi performed wonderfully well with Malja’ussunnah Hajiya Yar Nana eventually emerged victorious.
Dignitaries who attended were state Commissioner of religious affairs, Chairman Jega local government, General manager Kebbi Radio, Chairman council of ulama and students.
Highlights of the ceremony were presentations of awards to the wife of the Governor and Accountant genaral of the state and presentation of certificates and trophies to the two finalists.
