
In her address, the wife of the Governor, appreciated the association for inviting her to attend the event, while commending the then for improving the lives of widows and orphans in the nation, adding that the present administration has a strong working relationship with the state Customs command.


In her speech, the commissioner of women affairs and social development, Hajiya Halima Hassan Kamba, expressed her appreciation COWA for the support given to the only state orphanage which is under her ministry, while encouraging them to continue with the good work.
The National president COWA, MRS Kikelomo Basheer Adeniyi, commended Dr Nafisa Nasir for her efforts in uplifting the standard of living of women and the vulnerable in the state, enumerating some of the activities of the association, calling on women to engage in businesses no matter how small, so as to support their families, while appreciating the Customs Kebbi Command for hosting the event.


The wife of the Governor was accompanied by Commissioner of women affairs, Chairperson ANCOPPS, NANAS foundation and Elders forum.
The program had the attendance of the State Comptroller of customs, National executives of COWA and traditional leaders
The event featured presentation of awards to the wife of the Governor and the National president of COWA and distribution of relief materials to widows and orphans, commissioning of COWA office and tree planting by the wife of the Governor and the dignitaries.
