The wife of Kebbi state Governor Dr Nafisa Nasir Idris has Flagged off skills acquisition program and orientation of 500 women and youth in the state capital, which took place at the foundation’s secretariat.
In her speech, the wife of the Governor, who was represented by the state Commissioner of women affairs and social development, Haj. Halima Hassan Kamba, said the aim of organizing the training was to reduce the rate of idleness amongst women and youth in the state so as to be self reliant, calling on them to pay attention to attention during the training.
She commended the present administration for giving priority attention to the improvement of living standard of women and youth in state.
The Chairman NANAS foundation, Alh. Aminuddeen Attahiru Nassarawa said the purpose of organizing the training, was to encourage women and youth to stand on their feet and be productive members of the society, adding that the foundation has been in existence before the inception of the present administration and has been empowering women and youth, calling on the trainees to abide by the rules and regulations of the foundation to avoid expulsion.
He said the foundation also focuses on how to improve the health of women and children, calling on people to register with KECHEMA for easy access to health care services.
In their good will messages, Chairman Mata zallah, Alh. Ahmad Abdullahi and Chairperson women development cooperative association, Haj. Balkisu Aiki, commended the wife of the Governor for the initiative, saying it will go along way in reducing unemployment rate amongst women and youth and prayed to Allah to bless her abundantly, urging the trainees to reciprocate the gesture by paying attention to what they will be taught during the training so as to achieve the desired goals.
The training will offer different skills for two months which include cosmetic (make up), catering, Shoe and Bag making , leather work and tailoring and fashion designing.
