
The wife of Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nafisa Nasir Idris has attended the graduation ceremony of six hundred women and youths who were trained on various skills, organized by NANAS Foundation, held at Nizzamiyya Model Primary school, Jega.


Dr. Nafisa Nasir Idris who said Jega was the first local government to have benefitted from the skills acquisition programmes of her foundation, promised to extend the programme to all the local governments of the state.
She further said the present administration of Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu will continue to support people to uplift their lives.


Dr. Nafisa lauded the effort of the chairman of NANAS Foundation, Alhaji Aminuddeen Attahiru Nassarawa for making the training programme a successful one and enjoined the trainees to put what they have learnt into practice for the benefit of the society.
In their remarks, the state commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Halima Hassan Kamba and her counterpart of the ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Alhaji Nura Bala Fingilla acknowledged the NANAS Foundation for training women and youth to be self employed and productive members of the society.


The Sarkin Kabin Jega, Alhaji Muhammadu Arzika Bawa and member, representing Jega constituency at the state Assembly, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu Nassarawa appreciated the effort of the Governor’s wife, Dr. Nafisa Nasir Idris for impacting positively on the lives of the people, especially women and children.
Earlier, the chairman of NANAS Foundation, Alhaji Aminuddeen Attahiru Nassarawa said the beneficiaries were trained on various skills including; tailoring, cosmetology, makeup, bedsheet, shoe making and catering among others.

He added that the foundation had donated sewing machines, shoe making machines and other materials to the trainees to start up their businesses.
Some dignitaries who spoke at the event were chairman of Jega local government, Alhaji Shehu Umar SK, Commissioner of Urban and Physical Planning, Alhaji Hayatu Yahaya Bawa who expressed gratitude to the wife of the Governor for the gesture and called on people of the area to continue to support Governor Nasir Idris for more dividends of democracy.

Some of the trainees thanked the wife of the Governor and her foundation for the training and prayed to Allah to reward them abundantly.

Dignitaries who attended the event were wives of commissioners, house of assembly members, Chairmen, NANAS foundation and Elders forum.
