In a remarkable show of commitment towards the welfare and empowerment of women in Kebbi State, the wife of Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nafisa Nasir Idris, recently embarked on an impactful mission to Zuru. As part of her humanitarian efforts, she empowered 3,000 women from Zuru, Fakai, Sakaba, and Danko Wasagu with distorted grains and N10,000 each. This initiative aims to provide these women with essential support during the holy month of Ramadan.
Dr. Nafisa Nasir Idris, in her usual tradition, paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Zuru to seek his blessings and prayers. The Emir, in recognition of her unwavering dedication to women’s empowerment, conferred on her a traditional title of the first “Aminiyar Matan Zuru.” This title signifies her commitment to uplifting the lives of women in Zuru and the entire Kebbi State.
The empowered women were not the only beneficiaries of her visit, as Dr. Nafisa Nasir Idris also extended her support to the families of fallen heroes at the Amry barracks. She provided distorted grains, clothing materials, and cash to alleviate their burdens.
In her address to the gathered women, Dr. Nafisa Nasir Idris emphasized that the current assistance offered is not meant to be a long-term solution but rather to provide them with something edible during the holy month of Ramadan. She assured the women that she will return with a more sustainable empowerment program that will significantly improve their livelihoods.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the State Chairman of APC, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Pilgrims, and other notable personalities.
The people of Zuru and Kebbi State continue to express their gratitude and support for Dr. Nafisa Nasir Idris’s relentless efforts towards the upliftment of women in the state. Her dedication to their welfare is a testament to her compassionate leadership and a shining example for others to follow.
